Something new to me happened today. I got stuck in an elevator, but that wasn’t the worst part, I was without my camera.
So I should have taken the hint from the maid when she exited and said
“That contraption don’t sound so good”
Yeah what the heck, I just hopped in without care and to be honest I heard what she said but I didn’t listen to her until the door closed. Now luckily I am not claustrophobic, I’m also not a dramatic person so you won’t hear me say “oh mah gaw, that was the longest 10 minutes of my life” or anything like that. So the alarm went off, and like an idiot, I pressed every button I could until I felt secure that I would be rescued, which only took about 8 minutes or so.
I do think it’s amazing how being stuck alone in a 5x5x8 box, how quickly you can start to entertain yourself. I sat there thinking, if I did have my camera, what would I do. I also thought, gosh it’d be really nice to have a drink or snacks in here. But all of that was in my rental car. All I had to entertain myself was my mind, which if you know me well enough can be entertaining or scary at best 😉
I was then “saved” and I headed back to my room to get my camera so that I could go right back into the elevator to reenact my new experience.
Have you ever been stuck in an elevator? What did you do? What would you do if it happened to you?
