The F.I.L.M. Project

Share

Today I attended my orientation webinar for the The F.I.L.M. Project which I’m very honored and flattered to be selected as one of their photographers.  Like many of you cancer has touched my family’s and friend’s lives and it’s not something we ever want, ask for or even wish upon others. As an individual there are many ways I can help, through organizations that are dear to me I can volunteer my time or can donate money. Now as a professional photographer I am able to that and more. As a photographer I have always loved being able to capture memories that are dear to you, it’s even my mission statement:

Photographs are meant to remind us moments in time… My photographs are about reliving that emotion at that time… This is what drives my passion for photography

Now by working with The F.I.L.M. Project I am able to  donate professional family portraits to cancer patients through a network of volunteer photographers nationwide. Together we believe that in sharing our gifts, we can inspire healing, faith, and hope to these families during their most fragile times.

You can read more below and I invite you to join me in helping this cause and these individuals and families.

Sincerely,
Everardo Keeme

ABOUT THE FILM PROJECT

From 2003 to 2007, cancer has taken the lives of 33,514 individuals under the age of 35 in the U.S. alone. A staggering 2,792,820 cancer patients of all ages have suffered the same fate within the same time frame. Each day 1,500 people lose the same battle and an additional 3,400 are newly diagnosed.

The unpredictable path of destruction that follows the diagnosis of cancer leaves families facing the possibility of losing a loved one. Confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty can overwhelm them, leaving them standing still as the rest of the world passes by. During these moments of devastation, the simple comfort of remembrance through a photograph may be overlooked.

The F.I.L.M. Project is centered on delivering suffering families with a gift to remember their loved ones by – when it may be the furthest thing from their mind. With compassion and sensitivity each F.I.L.M. volunteer can donate a beautiful family heirloom, not only to assist with the healing process, but to allow families a way to honor and cherish their loved ones for generations.

F.I.L.M. is comprised of the nation’s greatest photographers volunteering their time and talent to our families at no cost. Our photographers will travel to homes, hospice, or hospitals and conduct sensitive private portrait sessions. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the family on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to create beautiful prints.

VOLUNTEERS
