This month’s Senior of the Month is Jasmine. She is a senior at Marcos de Niza in Tempe, AZ which is my alma mater and I must confess that Jasmine is my niece and goddaughter but that’s not why I picked her.  While I love the kid, I am amazed and maybe even a little jealous that she has embraced and passed through high school with such enthusiasm and vigor.  I’m proud of her for all of her accomplishments and even more for her genuine desire to help others.

Typically I announce the Senior of the Month during the first week of the month but I wanted to wait until Jasmine was able to attend and receive her award as a Tempe Top Teen. Being one of 43 young people recognized for their exemplary efforts in academics, athletics, arts, music, citizenship, community service and demonstration of social conscience is a great honor and we’re all very proud of her.

Thank you Jasmine for allowing me to take your Senior Portraits! As a special “Thank You” she will be receiving a special gift basket to help her along in school and life.
